Oreb is a nation located in northwest Sinai. It was founded by Israelites who left the encampment at Mount Sinai because they wanted to worship the Golden Calf instead of God. The Calf-Worshipers called themselves Orebites, after the leader of the Calf-Worshiprs, Oreb. The nation and capital city were named after him.
Oreb is composed of two cities: Oreb and Dan. Dan was founded by a man of the same name, who was a prophet of the Calf.
