The Kingdom of West Canada (Royaume de Canada-Ouest in French) commonly reffered to as West Canada or occassionally New Canada is a third world country on the west side of North America. It is known for it's natural beauty.

The largest city and capital of the country is Vancouver.

The economy is largely resource based. Many mines are operated by the government, forests to the north provide large amounts of wood and fishermen collect fish in the nearby waters.

Etymology[]

Queen Victoria chose the name Columbia in 1858, when it was a British colony. To avoid confusion with the US state of Columbia, it was named British Columbia.

The current name is simply because it's on the west side of Canada.

Geography[]

West Canada is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west, Alaska and Yukon to the north, the United States to the south and Saskatchewan to the east. It covers a total of 1,076,395 km2

There is a dense forest in north-eastern West Canada , in the west lies the Coastal Mountains, including Whistler hill. West Canada is regarded as the most beautiful area around Canada.

Government and Politics[]

The Kingdom of West Canada is a constitutional monarchy. Currently, the leader is King Lilninjabro6 and Prime Minister Cameron Dubois. The House of Matte, led by the King and the Prime Minister makes determines new motions (laws) for the nation.

A version of the House of Matte exists in provinces to make provincial laws, and rarely in large cities to make municipal laws.

Law[]

The Constitution of West Canada is the supreme law of the country. The West Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees that basic freedom cannot be overridden by the government and the Constitution Act of 2030 declared complete independence from Canada.

The Native American Acts of 2031 declared that all Aboriginal persons would be treated equally to the people of British Columbia.

Criminal courts are generally a provincial responsibility. National policing is oberated by the Federal Office of Law, which is the primary law enforcement in rural areas.

Foreign Relations and Military[]

West Canada employs a 51,000 person sized Armed Forces, although everyone aged 19 or older are required a minimum of two years military service, although this only occurs during major conflicts. The unified Armed Forces consist of the WC Army, Royal WC Navy, Royal WC Navy and the WC Space Force.

During wartime, the West Canadian military assists Royal Border Guard to defend the borders, and during peacetime they will still often patrol the borders.

The government operates Reduced Trade Agreements and Free Trade Agreements with numerous countries, and also has Mutual Defence Pacts with others.

Districts[]

West Canada is divided into several districts. All the districts produce supplies, which primarily goes to the capital. Some is traded between districts, however.

Vancouver[]

Vancouver is the capital of West Canada, it is also it's own district. The population is 500,000, supposedly the elite live here. Most supplies produced by each district is sent here.

District of Columbia[]

The District of Vancouver is located in the west side of the mainland. It's capital is Victoria. The province produces large amounts of wood for the capital. The population is 7,328,300.

District of Alberta[]

The District of Alberta is on the mainland of West Canada, it's capital being Edmonton. It was invaded and conquered by West Canada shortly after creation. It produces large amounts of fish and meat for the capital. It has a population of 7,290,514.

District of Saskatchewan[]

The District of Saskatchewan was also conquered by West Canada. It is known for agriculture, much of the produce is sent to the capital. It's population is about 2,066,000.

History[]

Pre-Secession[]

Before British Columbia's secession to become West Canada, it was a province of Canada, established in 1871, and was a major location for Pacific Ports and international trade.

Early Years[]

In it's early years, West Canada worked on developing a military, including the creation of a space program operated by the armed forces, as well as improving our current technology.

It was formerly part of l'Alliance de la Paix before it was dissolved. They began regular manned Pluto missions, building Space Bases on Pluto and Charon.

West Canada invaded Alberta and Saskatchewan, annexing both after long and tiring wars.

Economy[]

West Canada has a resource dominated economy. The nation trades extremely large amounts of wood from forests and stone, gold or other ores from the mines.

The government taxes are extremely low, just 18%. The government prefers to use trade in order to earn money.

Transportation[]

Road[]

The road is the primary method of travel within West Canada. Over 90% of people aged 18 or older own their own vehicles they regularly use. The government wishes to cut back on this, and has recently been encouraging public transport or by carpooling.

The Alex Fraser Bridge has about 10,000 motorists cross it a day.

Major highways include: Highway 201, which has nearly 50,000 motorists a day. Highway 205, a toll highway that is the only highway to connect West Canada to the rest of Canada, with routes from Alberta and Yukon.

Air[]

There are over 200 airports throughout West Canada. The major ones being Vancouver International Airport and Victoria International Airport, over 18 million people use Vancouver Airport every year.

W.C Air is the primary airline within West Canada, it is also the only one funded by the government.

Rail[]

The BC Railroad was created far before it's secession, during the 1800s. Overtime, it began operating MagLev routes to connect itself to Canada. These routes are still operated by the government.

The West Canada government has recently considered making underground railroads connecting cities, and increasing the amount of subways in use.

Sea[]

The sea is a less common method of travel used in West Canada, although ferries are commonly used in order to get to and from Vancouver Island to the mainland, as well as many other islands around West Canada.

The government uses the sea as another method for trade with other nations.

Demographics[]

The most recent census counted a total population of 8,903,132. The population has been steadily increasing due to tax cuts for each child you have, and immigration is increasing.

During the recent census 33% of the population are West Canadian, 21% are Canadian, 14% are English, 12% are French 11% are American, 10% are Scottish, 10% are German and 7% are Asian, the last 9% were other nations.

During the census, 67% of people said they were Christian, 23% said no religion and 10% said other non-Christian religions.

Languages of British Columbia[]

The primary languages are English and French. 61% and 21% respectively. 17% speaking both, and 1% speaking another language.

In all areas of West Canada, citizens have the right to receive federal services in either English or French due to the Charter of Freedoms and Rights.
